Support in everyday life: Volunteers assist older people in their daily lives

A project that creates closeness

Many older people live alone or have few opportunities for regular social contact. Our volunteers provide valuable support here: they visit senior citizens in their homes, spend time with them and offer practical help in everyday life. Whether it's going for a walk together, a trip to the doctor or simply a good conversation – small gestures can have a big impact.

Everyday support with heart

The volunteers help where support is most needed. This includes running small errands, accompanying them on shopping trips, helping them organise appointments or joint activities such as reading, crafts or board games. These regular encounters not only promote the independence of older people, but also give them security and confidence.

Mutual learning between generations

The exchange between young and old enriches both sides. Volunteers gain insights into life stories, experiences and perspectives, while seniors experience new stimuli and social participation. The encounters create a strong sense of community and build bridges between generations.

Why this commitment is so important

Loneliness in old age is a growing social issue. Through weekly or regular meetings, volunteers provide stable companionship, promote social bonds and contribute to a better quality of life. At the same time, the volunteers themselves experience how valuable their time and attention are – a win-win situation for both sides.

Get involved and make a difference

Those who wish to get involved will receive an introduction, opportunities for exchange and, if necessary, support from our team. Every hour donated has a direct positive impact on the life of an elderly person.
